The updated Belmont Stakes odds had Angel of Empire behind Forte at 3-1 with Preakness winner National Treasure at 5-1. This colt possesses the high cruising speed that usually serves him well in longer races.
Contenders
National Treasure, coming off a victory in the Preakness Stakes on May 20, will try to add another leg of the Triple Crown to his résumé with a win. Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike is also returning to the track after sitting out the Preakness. And neither is favored in Belmont odds: Sierra Leone, who lost a breathtaking photo finish to Mystik Dan in the Kentucky Derby, is the 9-5 favorite.
Other Contenders
